Course Details

Now being delivered through an online format 

Facilitating Career Development leads to the GCDF credential, and includes a blend of multiple Zoom webinar sessions with online activities, group work, independent studies, and other assignments. You should plan to attend all sessions. The 120-hour blended format program normally spans three to four months. Combining several Zoom sessions with web-based activities, independent study projects that directly benefit the student’s organization and customers, and other assignments, the course standardizes the knowledge and experience of individuals who are working in the career development and workforce development fields.

Course content is designed to be relevant and directly applicable for use on the job by the student. The richness of the program provides both the foundational learning that is so important to someone who is relatively new to the profession, as well as the depth that more experienced staff are seeking. The course addresses twelve (12) core competencies.

Your Instructors

Beth Lengel has 40 years of directly related experience in career and workforce development. Since 1989, she has been a chief partner in Lengel Vocational Services, providing workforce development services, training, and consultation for career and workforce programs around the country.She is a national instructor of the Career Development Facilitator (CDF) credential for the National Career Development Association (NCDA). She is also an Adjunct Instructor for College of Charleston and Midlands Technical College in South Carolina.

Patrick Lengel helps case managers and service providers live up to their full potential personally and professionally. He is an instructor for the GCDF classes and a national speaker/trainer. In all his work, he seeks to combine theory and practicality to provide a real-world, transformational experience to those he trains. 

His work experience in the career development industry goes back to JTPA and both year-round and summer youth programs. He has specialized in youth workers as well as working with the leadership teams of various WIA programs. Patrick has served as a work-based learning facilitator within the public school system, helping students discover their career potential through job shadowing, internships and co-ops. He has also served as a civilian career liaison for the National Guard assisting soldiers in their career transition and has been a consultant for various projects within the industry, one of which is commonly seen at many career centers.

Patrick is a trainer with a twist. Not only is he a workforce development professional, but he is also an ordained minister.
